There is such excitement in Sidmouth this year as much-loved events can once again be held in the town. With so many cancelled last year during the Covid pandemic restrictions, this year will hopefully bring some joy to residents and visitors.
Christmas Lights Switch On
The grand switch on of lights provided by Sidmouth Town Council, will be performed at 5.30pm on Saturday 20 November. Di Fuller of Sid Valley Help will press the switch. Winners of the Sustainable Sidmouth Champions Awards for Community, Sid Valley Help has been invaluable in recent times. They have continued to help those in need in our community. There will be music and entertainment starting at 4.30pm, just before the ‘Golden Ticket’ draw. It’s always a lovely event and gets the town in the Christmas spirit!
Late Night Shopping
Another much loved Christmas event will return to Sidmouth town on Friday 3 December: Late Night Shopping. Always great fun for all the family. Plans are for an evening of festive entertainment in locations around the town. There will be choirs: young and old, dancing, a tombola and, of course, the children’s favourite: Santa’s sleigh. Definitely not one to miss!
Illuminated Gardens – Connaught at Christmas
An exciting new event for Sidmouth is planned this year. An illuminated garden walk for all the family. From Tuesday 7th to Sunday 12th December, Connaught@Christmas Illuminated Gardens will be open from 4.30pm until 9.30pm daily with last entry at 8.30pm. Tickets are bookable at half hour intervals throughout the evenings via the website. In addition to this, Connaught@Christmas Food and Craft Village will be open daily from 1pm to 8pm in Manor Road Car Park (opposite). There will be over 30 craft traders and food outlets. The Food & Craft Village is free.
Visit festive Blinis-Café-Bar
Popular with locals and visitors, our café-bar, Blinis, adjacent to the hotel, will have festive specials on its menu, together with all the favourites including our speciality: blinis! Pop in during your Christmas shopping trip or visit to Connaught Gardens.
