23rd December
You’ve arrived! To begin your festive visit to Devon, we had to welcome you with one of our delicious cream teas. Afternoon Tea is served at 3.30pm in the hotel’s three lounges. You will be spoilt with a choice of our chef’s homemade cakes and freshly baked scones with Devonshire cream!
As a family-run hotel, we enjoy meeting our guests during their Christmas break. Join us, before dinner, for a glass of Prosecco in the Faulkner Lounge Bar where you will be entertained by the Torbell Hand Bell Ringers. Later, enjoy silver service as dinner is served in the restaurant. (Look out for our Christmas competition in the York Restaurant – you could win a bottle of bubbly!)
Christmas Eve
Forget the weather outside, relax in the hotel where you’ll be spoilt morning, noon and night! If you have to venture out for last minute Christmas shopping, don’t miss our exquisite mince pies at 11.00am! The day begins with breakfast served in our oak-panelled restaurant. Later, enjoy morning coffee and minces pies. Christmas luncheon is served in the restaurant, and after, Afternoon Tea in the hotel lounges where you can relax until dinner is served in the evening. Finally, James Clemas, pianist and vocalist, performs for your enjoyment in the Faulkner Lounge Bar after dinner.
Christmas Day – Relax and enjoy!
Start Christmas Day with breakfast in the restaurant, then relax in either the York Lounge, Reading or Writing Rooms with a book, a puzzle or friends. Enjoy coffee and mince pies mid-morning before our Gala Christmas Luncheon at 1.00pm. Following the Queen’s Christmas address, Afternoon Tea and Christmas cake is served in the lounges. After dinner in the restaurant, you can join in our special Christmas team quiz in the Faulkner Bar Lounge.
Boxing Day
This might be the first time you’ve ventured outside the hotel since you arrived, but, at least you won’t have to walk far to be entertained. Opposite the hotel, on Sidmouth’s Esplanade, you can watch the traditional Boxing Day Swim at 11.00am. Those brave enough can take a dip! Depending on the weather, head quickly back to the Faulkner Bar where hot mulled wine and mince pies will be served. Following luncheon and Afternoon Tea, you can enjoy a Boxing Day Carved Buffet Dinner before retiring to the Faulkner Bar Lounge to be entertained by ‘Jazz Lounge’ pianist and vocalist.
27th December
Sadly we have to say goodbye today, but before you go, enjoy breakfast in the restaurant.
