If you fancy a swim in the sea at Sidmouth, you’ll be reassured to know that Sidmouth beach was recently awarded an excellent rating for water quality for the third consecutive year.
Following a summer of weekly testing by the Environment Agency, both Sidmouth beaches, Sidmouth Town and Jacob’s Ladder, received the highest possible water quality grade from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
And Sidmouth beach isn’t the only East Devon beach with a clean bill of health. The nearby beaches at Seaton, Beer, Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth also received an excellent rating from DEFRA, so you’ve plenty of choice for a sea swim while staying in Sidmouth.
Our hotel’s location on the Esplanade at Sidmouth, directly opposite the beach makes us ideally positioned for swimming in the sea. And don’t be mistaken that this is just a summer activity. Many locals enjoy year-round swimming at Sidmouth.
