During the summer months, the cliffs around Sidmouth are alive with the sound of music! Here is a round-up of the seasonal musical events in Sidmouth which we think you might enjoy listening to during your stay here.
Sidmouth Town Band
Now in their 155th year, Sidmouth Town Band perform every Sunday evening throughout the summer months. The weekly concerts, held in Sidmouth’s Connaught Gardens, are free for all to enjoy and feature a mix of modern and classical music.
Details: Every Sunday at 8pm until 3rd September
The brass band will also be performing Last Night of the Proms in the gardens on Saturday 19th August at 7.30pm.
Ottery St Mary Silver Band Concert
Connaught Gardens play host to another local brass band, the Ottery St Mary Silver Band, who treat listeners to a free fortnightly concert throughout the summer months. The band’s 29 players, of mixed age, play a selection of varied and popular music.

Sidmouth Folk Week
Sidmouth Folk Week is Sidmouth’s biggest event and musical extravaganza of the year. There has been a folk festival in Sidmouth every year since 1955 and each year gets bigger and better.
Featuring a whole host of different musicians, this festival offers something for everyone from smaller intimate shows to larger concert size performances.

Jazz in the Afternoon
On the 4th Sunday of every month, you can enjoy a relaxing afternoon of jazz at the Kennaway House Cellar Bar. Each month features a different local jazz band.
Details: 25th June, 23rd July, 27th August, 24th September from 3pm to 5:30pm (doors open 2pm)
Musical entertainment at the Royal York & Faulkner Hotel
Several evenings a week, our guests can enjoy musical entertainment without needing to leave the hotel. Local artists Edward Jacobs (pianist), James Clemas (pianist/vocalist), and Brian Sandy (guitarist) play regularly in our Faulkner Bar.
If you’d like a break from the music, you can relax quietly in any of our three beautifully furnished lounges.
