Sidmouth Regatta 2016

This year Sidmouth’s annual regatta takes place on the August Bank Holiday Weekend (Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th August).

Sidmouth Regatta was revived by Sidmouth Sailing Club 27 years ago and has been an annual event in the Sidmouth diary ever since. It combines fun events for local families and visitors with a more serious side for those wishing to take part in the sailing races.

The weekend’s activities will kick off with a display from The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, at 6.30pm on Friday 26th August. The Red Arrows are one of the world’s premier aerobatic display teams and it’s a thrill to watch them perform in the sky above the Sidmouth Esplanade and seafront. We’ve got the perfect ringside view from the hotel!

Traditional sea activities will take place on the Saturday. There will be a raft race, which is always a popular event followed by a courtesy visit from the Exmouth Lifeboat (weather/operational duties permitting). The day will culminate with live music and a spectacular firework display. The Sailing and Angling Club is open to all on the Saturday.

The Sunday events will be aimed at children and their families. There will be lots of free events with generous prizes.

If you’d like to see the Red Arrows and enjoy the Sidmouth Regatta festivities why not take advantage of our Summer Break Offer? Enjoy en-suite accommodation, four-course table d’hote dinner, full English breakfast and afternoon tea for just £80.00 per person per night (minimum two night stay).
