If you’re planning to visit Devon over the summer we recommend you try and squeeze in a visit to one of Devon’s summer agricultural shows. There are plenty to choose from.
Having started out as agricultural shows they have all expanded to feature a wider range of attractions and entertainment. Each show has something for everyone to enjoy.
The Devon agricultural show season kicks off with the region’s largest event – the Devon County Show, which opens next week.
Here is a round-up of this year’s Devon shows, all within easy reach of our Sidmouth hotel.
Devon County Show – 19-21 May
Westpoint, Exeter, Devon
The Devon County Show is one of the biggest events in the county calendar. The show runs over three days and features everything from agricultural and livestock showing, to fine local food, spectacular flower displays, rural skills and country pursuits, and shopping. It’s a celebration of Devon and a great day out.

Axe Vale Festival – 25-26 June
The Showground, Trafalgar Way, Axminster, Devon
The Axe Vale Festival is a fantastic event that celebrates the local area, raises money for local causes and provides a great day out for all visitors. Originally started to raise money to help build a local swimming pool, the first festival celebrated gardening and crafts. Today the festival has expanded to include food, antiques, trade stands, skilled demonstrators, toys and hobbies, live music, and entertainment as well as retaining its strong links to horticulture, gardening and crafts.

Honiton Agricultural Show – 4 August
Honiton Showground, Stockers Farm, Gittisham, Devon
The Honiton Agricultural Show is a showcase for the best of local farming, produce, crafts and rural skills. The Honiton Agricultural Show is the largest show in East Devon and this year will be it’s 126th show. You can expect a full line up of entertainment including farm and animal demonstrations, arts, rural crafts, food and drink, music and much more.
