Sidmouth Literary Festival describes itself as a ‘book festival by the sea – for writers and readers.’
Over the course of the two days there will be a variety of literary themed lectures, seminars and workshops.
Writer in residence this year is Sidmouth-based Jane Corry whose psychological thriller, ‘My Husband’s Wife’, will be published by Penguin Viking in August.
Among the authors appearing this year are Booker Prize Winner, Dame Penelope Lively, leading thriller writer Robert Goddard, Costa nominee, Kate Hamer, the man who wrote The Horse Whisperer, Nicholas Evans and award winning commentator, Con Coughlin, of the Daily Telegraph.
This year’s festival line-up also includes breakfast with war veteran Simon Weston and Radio Devon’s Fitz.
For budding writers who want see their work in print there is a special seminar, ‘How to get published’ with top experts from Penguin and Pan Macmillan, a leading literary agent and a specialist in self publishing.
