Sidmouth Walking Festival 2017

Sidmouth walking festival is a fabulous week of free guided walks where you can discover the fantastic scenic coastal walking of Sidmouth and the beautiful East Devon countryside.

This year’s festival runs from Saturday 23rd to Friday 29th September, and it all starts with a launch event at Kennaway House on Saturday. From 1.30pm, light refreshments will be available, and you can meet the walk guides and pick up your walker’s guidebook.

Throughout the week there are at least three walks a day with a variety of routes and distances for you to choose from. All the walks are led by experienced local walkers and are an excellent way to explore Sidmouth and East Devon.

For the more adventurous, there is the option to complete the 40 mile East Devon Way, walking from Lyme Regis to Exmouth. This walk will take place over five daily stages, and coach transport is provided (at the cost of £6) from Sidmouth to take you to the start and collect you at the end of each day.

All walks are open to all and free to join but spaces are limited so must be booked in advance through the Sidmouth Tourist Centre 01395 51644.  You can view the festival programme here.

If you like walking, Sidmouth Walking Festival is a perfect time to indulge your hobby and explore the area.
